Thoughts

As a painter I disconnect myself from any use of photography, digital help, AI tools. I rely solely on paints, brushes imagination and real objects.

***

Sometimes I think that what's most important to me is THAT I paint and less important WHAT I paint.

***

Painting doesn't need to make sense.

***

Process of painting is similar to dreaming at night.

***

I don't do research, art is not a science, you cannot institutionalise what comes from the depths of unconscious.

***

Painting is not a psychotherapy. If you have problems go get some help.

***

If I'm tired of imaginary staff I switch to realism, observational painting is the best teacher.

***

Style is a subtle form of an artistic enslavement.

***

My painting doesn't claim to know something, doesn't want to solve problems or to contribute to a better society or to be meaningful. It doesn't comment on something. It doesn't want to change the world nor it wants to make it a better place. It leaves a print, a nonverbal message.

***

No education can give you a recipe how to be an artist. You can learn how to paint. But to be an artist is to find the essence of yourself and paint. Only you can do it. An institution or a teacher won't do it for yourself.
