About
My primary language is painting.
My paintings don’t tell a story—there is no narrative behind them. My role is to give physical shape to what seeks expression in visual form. It is a non-verbal message. That message is not goal-oriented. I paint because there is a need to express something that cannot be spoken. I may try to speak about it, but I will never reach its essence—that essence is visual.
I have nothing to say, painting does not say anything.
If I were to place myself within a historical context, my paintings are most closely connected to Surrealism. I’ve been influenced by the Surrealists, Baroque art, and the Polish artist Jacek Malczewski, whose paintings have always felt close to me. Last but not least, I'm grateful to have been a student of the late Prof. Leszek Mickos. The memories of conversations with him still spur my artistic endeavors.
